Description
Scandlines is a German-Danish ferry company built up on a parent company, Scandlines AG, and two subsiduaries, the German Scandlines Deutschland GmbH and the Danish subsidiary named Scandlines Danmark A/S. Scandlines as a whole operates 17 lines for passenger and freight in and between Denmark, Germany, Sweden, and the Baltic countries. Scandlines also operates in pool with the Swedish Scandlines Ab, which is owned by Stena Line.

History
Ownership and financial information
Scandlines used to be part owned by the Danish Ministry of Transportation the and Deutsche Bahn AG , but from 2007, it has been owned by a consortium consisting of 3i Group of Copenhagen and Frankfurt (40%), Allianz Capital Partners of Munich (40%) and Deutsche Seereederei of Rostock (20%).
